Why Konspira?

seperator

The end of war in 1945 did not bring the long-awaited freedom neither to Poland nor many other countries in the east-central Europe. Instead they found themselves in the soviet area of influence and so the German occupant was replaced with the puppet governments controlled by Moscow. But polish people were not going to come to terms with such state of affairs. During the entire period of PRL (Polish People’s Republic) a large number of them fought against the regime. The post-war armed resistance of the Cursed Soldiers was replaced by the next generations who continued their fight with demonstrations, strikes and the creation of the so called “second circulation”.

In thousand of private flats hundreds of thousands of conspirators worked day and night writing, printing and distributing illegal contents in the society.

Why Wrocław ?

seperator

Wrocław is a very special place as far as the anticommunist opposition of the 1980’s is concerned. There is a reason why the capital of the Lower Silesia region was called the “fortress of Solidarity”. All the people as well as organisations involved in the opposition movement constitute a heritage, of which many other polish cities are envious. It was in the city of Wrocław where organisations such as Fighting Solidarity, RKS-Regional Strike Committee, the Orange Alternative, Polish-Czech Solidarity and the Interschool Resistance Committee originated and functioned.
